Known as the "Queen of Welsh Resorts" Llandudno is a large seaside resort in Conwy (or formerly Gwynedd), Wales. It is located within a few miles of Deganwy, Glanwydden, Conwy, Church Bay, Gyffin, and Rhos-On-Sea and is one of 91 towns or villages in Gwynedd in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest city is Bangor (population 15,280), with Swansea (population 169,880), and Newport (which has a population of 116,143 according to the 2001 Census) on the south coast.
Llandudno has many attractions for visitors. Overlooked by the Great Orme headland, with its famous tramway and cable car, the town itself has two beaches, one on the east side, the other on the west. The main promenade, full of hotels, guesthouses and bed and breakfasts, faces east across the bay, with the main town separating it from the sweeping sands of the west side beach. The town has a wide variety of shops including a number of larger high street names and transport facilities are good with easy access by road. Follow the links to find holiday cottages and lets available in this area on Go2, or view the surrounding area on the map below.
Gwynedd takes its name from the old Kingdom of Gwynedd and is an area of north Wales which encompasses most of Snowdonia and the Lyyn Peninsula. Although one of the largest local government areas in the country it is also quite sparsely populated. A large number of welsh-speaking people live in the area, and it is home to the university city of Bangor as well as the famous 'royal' town of Caernarfon.

Travelling to or from Ireland? Don't forget the ferry! Not only does it give you
the freedom of taking your own car but it provides a superb experience of travelling
by sea and exploring the coastline. With convenient routes between Holyhead and Dublin, or Pembroke and Rosslare, we recommend
Irish Ferries for great, low-cost, transport. They are the leading Irish ferry company and provide both an excellent service, and excellent prices.

User Guides
We had a great time in North Wales this summer, especially the days we visited the beach at Llandudno. The sun shone, the kids had great fun building sand castles and the beach itself didn't disappoint (well, both beaches actually, there's two). The 'main town' beach has all the 'traditional' sea-side resort attractions including a Punch and Judy show, speed boat rides, and donkeys. Our boys really enjoyed joining in with 'The Beach Team' (United Beach Missions) who were at Llandudno that week and organised games, competitions and Bible stories for the children there.
The town itself is surprisingly large with a very good range of shops... and of course more than one place to buy some fish and chips! IP, Honiton 03 October 2012
