The popular seaside town of Paignton in South Devon forms part of the Torbay district along with the neighbouring towns of Brixham and Torquay.
Situated in the ‘English Riviera’ Paignton’s roots go back to Celtic times. It was traditionally a fishing village, but with a new harbour built in 1847 and the arrival of the railways in 1859 the town grew to become increasingly popular as a tourist destination.
With sandy beaches and a temperate climate Paignton has long been popular with families, and in addition to the town itself and its beaches, there are several popular tourist attractions including the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway and Paignton Zoo.

North Devon
From the vast unspoilt expanses of Exmoor to its endless sandy beaches and charming

is a picture-perfect fishing village. Ilfracombe is a more traditional seaside resort, but is not overly-commercialised, while the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth have an atmosphere all their own. Don’t miss the wonderful water-powered funicular railway here.
South Devon
Justly famous as one of England’s finest destinations, South Devon has everything
