Dawlish is a seaside town on the south coast of Devon, England. It is situated near to Dawlish Warren, Cockwood, Teignmouth, Shaldon, and Exmouth and is one of over three hundred towns and villages in Devon in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest main cities are Exeter (population 106,772), Plymouth (population 243,795), and Wells (which has a population of 10,406 according to the 2001 Census).
Located on the river Dawlish Water, as it enters the sea, Dawlish has a sandy beach, backed by red sandstone cliffs, with the South Devon Railway sea wall and the main line railway above it. If you like to watch trains past whilst lazing on the beach you couldn't find a better place!
