Chatsworth House, Lyme Park (NT), Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath and many other attractions within a half hour drive. Buxton 10 miles. Golf, fly fishing and pony trekking 6 miles. Summer swimming 7 miles.

Situated between the Dark Peak and the White Peak in Hope Valley, Derbyshire, the village of Castleton has long been popular with tourists, especially walkers who make this their base for exploring the beautiful scenery of the Peak District which surrounds it. As well as several shops, an information centre and numerous tea shops and pubs in the village itself, there are also a good number of walking routes which lead out of the village.
Transport is provided for by a number of bus services, but lacking its own railway station, the nearest rail link is via Hope station a couple of miles away. Accommodation is provided for with a range of guesthouses, B&Bs, and holiday lets and cottages which you can search and compare on Go2.
