This lovely family house on the edge of the famous Victorian village of Ballater offers spacious and very comfortable accommodation with a wealth of period features in its principal rooms, and from its small widows' tower room there are spectacular hill views. Sharing a driveway with the Gig House which is at the rear of the large walled natural garden, it is an easy walk to the many excellent restaurants, pubs and Royal appointed shops, with some interesting art galleries and antique shops to explore.
Set in the heart of Royal Deeside, Glenbardie is an excellent base for touring the beautiful Cairngorm National Park area with its designated nature reserves supporting a fascinating mixture of both flora and fauna, and its wonderful opportunities for outdoor activities at all times of year. Golf, loch and river fishing, cycling, walking, riding and skiing (in season) are all available locally. Balmoral Castle (8 miles) is open to the public from March to July, and the Castle, Whisky and Heritage Trails all make great days out as do the various towns' Highland Games in summer.
